I am employed by the people of Ohio and serve the public trust as an assistant professor who specializes in post-1870s America within the Ohio State University's Department of Educational Studies' philosophy and history of education program with an affiliate membership within the university's Department of History. In addition to my work in educational history and philosophy, I have interests in the histories of Asian and African America, childhood, consumerism, technology, masculinity, photography, and foodways. I also research private and "small" decentered cultures and social military histories.
In Autumn 2019, I will offer an online graduate readings course in the history of Black American education and an online dual undergraduate/graduate course in the history of American childhoods. |
